Revamping the Ol’ Shoppe: The Necessary To Do List

The month of June had been a very busy month.  Next to having to deal with the end-of-the-year school business, t-ball games, and other obligations, I have taken steps to give my shop another makeover.  Recently I purchased a shop makeover to get a professional polish to my avatar, banner, and several other aspects of my shop.  Lately, I have taken a look at the presentation of my goods-for-sale, and decided a few tweaks needed to be made.

  • Pictures – When they say a picture is worth a thousand words, they are not kidding.  If I want a potential customer to purchase my work, I need to provide the best pictures I can to reveal all the necessary aspects of my work.  For example, I needed to photograph my silver and pearl dainties with a different background to make the details stand out. silver-pearls1
  • Inventory - I have added a few things to my shop.  Recently,  I added to my shop these really nice, wire wrapped earrings that compliment the wire wrapped pendant I made. Gold-Stone1Gold-Stone4
  • Anticipate the next seasonIt’s important for me to plan in advance.  Although we are enjoying the beginning of summer in the northern hemisphere, it is easy to dwell on hot days and summer fun.  But I take my lead from retail stores.  Today I saw school uniforms on display.  imagesI’m sure the children do not like seeing this reminder of the fall, but it’s good marketing practice to put in front of the consumer what they may be interested in purchasing at a later date.  So I am starting to stock my shop with a little bit of fall merchandise. il_430xN.36657270

With some hard work and a lot of time, I will have my shop exactly where I want it.
